Reference Standards Acceptance
Specification Version: RS-EITCI-QSG-EQRNG-PROTOCOL-STD-VER-25 - Accepted Reference Standard
Technical Reference Standard for Entanglement-Based Quantum Random Number Generator (EQRNG) Protocols (including Definitions, Theoretical Concepts, Protocols, Processes, Architectures, Functional Requirements, Technical Implementations, Devices, Operative Principles, Security Models, Conformance Assessments, Use Cases, Randomness Certification, Statistical Randomness Testing, Device Independence and Public Verification Schemes for Entanglement-Based QRNGs).
After the RFC drafting started in 2019, the subsequent version iterations have been continously advanced and recently accepted by the Quantum Standards Group on October 31, 2025 under a merged RS-EITCI-QSG-EQRNG-PROTOCOL-STD-VER-2.5 Technical Reference Standard for Entanglement-Based Quantum Random Number Generator (EQRNG) Protocols.
Previous version iterations involved following separation of technical reference standards for Entanglement-Based QRNGs:
- RS-EITCI-QSG-EQRNG-THEORY-STD-VER-1.0
- RS-EITCI-QSG-EQRNG-PROTOCOLS-STD-VER-1.0
- RS-EITCI-QSG-EQRNG-TESTING-STD-VER-1.0
The acceptance of subsequent RFC iterations towards the full RS document was completed on October 31, 2025.
The list of corrections/improvements in the iterations of RFC is following:
- Editing corrections
- Improvements in definitions formulations
- Developments on theoretical concepts
- Developments on protocols
- Developments on processes
- Developments on architectures
- Developments on functional requirements
- Developments on technical implementations
